i know i've fallen behind in posting to this blog - i have no excuse other than just pure forgetfulness. i'll try to do better.

she is totally okay, by the way. it looks much worse than it really is - it was just a small scratch that bled a lot.

my new favorite

a dear friend and i had a long conversation about flickr and what it means to us.

i went through a phase where i uploaded pictures i thought people would want to see. and yes, even thought about how many comments i would get. and more often than not, those images received no feedback.

so i took a step back, asked myself why i love photography, and forgot about everyone else.

i started taking, editing and uploading pictures *I* love. pictures that make me smile. or make me remember a moment.

i really try to show what i see in emma when i take/edit/upload pictures of her.

my view of her is this ... soulful.

she can talk an ear off of a stalk of corn, and she can be difficult and stubborn.

but she can also be so thoughtful and in tune with things that i don't think most 2-year olds are in tune with.

so this is to my girl. my life. without her, i wouldn't even want to take pictures.

i am a really bad procrastinator. case in point, i have a page-long to-do list, yet here i am editing/uploading pictures.

and e is totally following in my footsteps. she'll even try to get me to let her clean up her toys so she doesn't have to go to "quiet time" (aka, naptime, but that's our little secret, m'kay?)

depending on her mood and my mood, i'll allow her to procrastinate, but i'm a little worried about the effects. am i creating a procrastinator?

or are all people automatically born procrastinators?

this image is just a touch of what kind of day we had yesterday with miss thang.

she had a whopping attitude all.day.long. sometimes, we just had to laugh behind our hands.

LOL!

we had driven over to cowpens national battlefield, and she wouldn't move unless we let her lead the way. luckily, it was just a mile loop around - but it was the longest mile of our lives.

i can't get too upset with her, because she is ALL me.

all i have to say is ... my poor husband.

as long as i've known her, i've secretly wanted a flat beach rock (we don't have those down here, y'all) and it's just about 4 million times better that it's in the shape of a heart.

and the peace crane is so delicate and beautiful. it will hang in my daughter's window to bring peace in her dreams.
